Gene Tsudik

Privacy in Location-Based Mobile (and Vehicular) Ad-Hoc Networks

Gene Tsudik is a "Lois and Peter Griffin" Professor of Computer Science at the University of California, Irvine (UCI). He obtained his PhD in Computer Science from USC in 1991. Before coming to UCI in 2000, he was at IBM Zurich Research Laboratory (1991-1996) and USC/ISI (1996-2000). Over the years, his research interests included most topics in security and applied cryptography. He currently serves as Director of Secure Computing and Networking Center (SCONCE) and Vice-Chair of the Computer Science Department. Since 2009, he is the Editor-in-Chief of ACM Transactions on Information and Systems Security (TISSEC).

Vicenç Torra

Towards Knowledge Intensive Data Privacy

Vicenç Torra is a Senior researcher at the Artificial Intelligence Research Institute (IIIA) that belongs to the Spanish Council for Scientific Research (CSIC). He was formerly an Associate Professor at the Universitat Rovira i Virgili (Tarragona, Catalunya, Spain). He obtained a BSc in Computer Science in 1991, a MSc in 1992 and a PhD, also in Computer Science, in 1994 from the Universitat Politecnica de Catalunya. His fields of expertise is artificial intelligence, and more specifically knowledge integration and fuzzy sets. Since 2008, he is Co-Editor-in-Chief of Transactions on Data Privacy.

Sabrina De Capitani di Vimercati

Sabrina De Capitani di Vimercati is a full professor at the Information Technology Department, University of Milan, Italy. She received the Laurea and PhD degrees both in Computer Science from the Universita degli Studi di Milano, Italy, in 1996 and 2001, respectively. Her research interests are in the area of information security, databases, and information systems. On these topics she has published more than 100 refereed technical papers in international journals and conferences. She has been an international fellow in the Computer Science Laboratory at SRI, CA (USA). She is member of the Steering Committees of the European Symposium on Research in Computer Security (ESORICS) and of the ACM Workshop on Privacy in the Electronic Society (WPES). She is vice-chair of the IFIP WG 11.3 on Data and Application Security. She is co-recipient of the ACM-PODS'99 Best Newcomer Paper Award.
